
Plain Rice
Add one cup of rice and one and a half cup of water per person. To prepare the rice, put the water and rice into the pan, stir, put the lid on, and turn the heat on the stove top to high. After the rice begins to boil, turn down the heat and let the rice simmer for approximately 15 minutes or until the water has disappeared. Level the rice by brushing the spoon lightly over the top. If you don’t level it, it will cook unevenly. Remove the pan from the heat and let the rice sit. Wait for ten to fifteen minutes, then serve. You can add butter/margarine, soy sauce, or other seasonings to the rice to enhance the taste.
